Temporary Disability Insurance
Temporary Total Disability insurance policies provide a monthly or weekly benefit as a result of an accidental bodily injury or sickness.
The policy can begin to pay a benefit following an elimination period and can continue to pay as long as the person remains disabled or the maximum benefit period of coverage is exhausted.
Short-Term Disability (STD) policies have a waiting period of 0-14 days with a maximum benefit period of no longer than two years.
Monthly benefits can commence following the elimination period and can pay out for as long as the total disability continues, but no longer than the benefit period. In the event of multiple separate claims, each claim will have a full benefit period eligibility.
