Alex Barthalis, Partner, studied Advanced Probability and Statistics at Rutgers University to become an actuary. After leaving school, he began working in the retirement consulting field in central New Jersey, where he became an expert in qualified retirement planning and achieved the designations of Qualified Pension Administrator and Qualified 401(k) Administrator from the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries. He then left New Jersey to work on Wall Street at Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, where he rose to be the national head of TPA Services. After spending years on the road helping build Guardian’s retirement business, Alex moved his family to Beverly Hills, CA to start his retirement administration firm, Beverly Hill Pension Planning. BHPP quickly grew to become a premier third-party administration firm in Los Angeles, working closely with Dennis Gilbert and now Paradigm Gilbert

Alex closed BHPP in 2017 and started The Barthalis Company with his brother Andrew Barthalis. The Barthalis Company is a consulting firm that specializes in life insurance, disability, retirement planning and expert witness work. After spending many years working closely with Dennis Gilbert and The Gilbert Group, Alex and Dennis became partners, and Alex now holds the position of Managing Principal at Paradigm Gilbert while still running the consulting firm
